My sixth destination! (Sahara Desert)

Hey!

This morning I arrived at the Sahara Desert. Wow It's hot here! The temperature is around 27-30 degrees. There are many great things to do here! So far I've been on many camel rides and learning about the wonderful history this desert contains.

The Sahara Desert with a size of 8.6 million kilometres square is the largest desert in the world, covering large amounts of area in the North of Africa. Around four million people live here. This desert's maximum length is 4,800 km, running from west to east and up to 1,200 km from north to south. Sahara covers most of Mauritania, Western Sahara, Algeria, Libya, Egypt, Sudan, Chad and Mali. To the north of this desert its bordered by the Atlas Mountains and the Mediterranean Sea.

This desert is known to be very dry, but there is an annual rainfall in most regions. The Sahara Desert has a sub-tropical climate in it's northern parts, and a tropical one in the south. Winters in the north of this desert are mainly cold. In the summer it is mainly hot in the desert. The highest temperate ever recorded in summer for this desert was 58 degrees. There is a small amount of rain in the northern parts of the desert. About a quarter of Sahara consists of mountains. There are several rivers running through the Sahara, the main one is the Nile River.

This destination was great! The places I went to were so cool and I learned so much information! I hope my next destination is as good as this one was!

Bye.
